Somatic Experiencing™

Somatic Experiencing™ is a therapeutic approach created by
Peter A. Levine Phd, who recognised that whilst other animals can “shake off”
traumatic stress, we humans sometimes can’t!

At Athrú Somatic Therapy and Mindfulness, I support clients to work through patterns left behind by trauma and stress. This allows the client’s system to relearn how to deal with stressors and triggers, and return to the stream of life.

At Athrú Somatic Therapy and Mindfulness, I support people of all ages in Mindfulness and Self Compassion practices. 

In adult classes I support self reflection, discussion, informal and formal mindfulness practices, self compassion, kindness and gratitude practices.

These themes are also explored with children and young people through age appropriate creative activities in our Creative Mindfulness for Kids classes.

A new chapter will begin for me in the coming months, when I move my private practice in Buncrana. I will continue to see clients online as well as these in-person appointments in Milltown Business Park Buncrana. A big thank you to Yvonne @ Nutri Ki for a place in her beautiful space. If you are interested in some in-person sessions in Buncrana, please contact me and we can arrange a call.

What a wonderful year it has been, teaching over a hundred children creative mindfulness and self compassion practices. We have had so much fun and I can’t wait to continue this amazing work in the coming school year!
